Internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler, and songwriter Andrew Bird will be doing a signing and meet and greet live from The Jazz Social for his debut release with trio drummer Ted Poor, and bassist Alan Hampton, Sunday Morning Put-On.
A Tribute To Mid-Century, Small Group Jazz, the album, released on Loma Vista Recordings finds Bird, Poor, and Hampton playing standards by Duke Ellington (“Caravan”), Cole Porter (“You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To”), and more. Sunday Morning Put-On closes with its lone original song, “Ballon de peut-être.” Additional contributors to the new album include guitarist Jeff Parker and pianist Larry Goldings.
