JazznewbloodALIVE2021 showcase, in its 6th edition, continues the mission of supporting and presenting the next generation of the best Jazz new players and bands. Always pushing to increase diverse and gender balance in the Uk Jazz.

Jazznewblood has been on the scene supporting Young Jazz talent since 2015. The jazznewbloodALIVE Showcase is the stage to discover the next generation of the best new players and bands. In previous editions, Jazznewblood have introduced talent like Kokoroko, SEED Ensemble, Mark kavuma, Rosie Frater-Taylor, Alex Ridout, Tom Remon, Zeñel, and Quinn Oulton among many others.

Allexa Nava

A young jazz saxophonist and composer, originally from Peru. Winner of Tomorrow´s Warriors 'Alf Williams Memorial Award', she has been part of Tomorrows Warriors for over a year, learning under the mentorship of Gary Crosby, Ben Burrell and Aleksandra Topeczewska. Performing as part of the Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Frontline, she has performed at a number of important festivals.

Kielan Sheard

Finalist of BBC ‘Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020’ Kielan is an upright and electric bassist and composer from London. He started playing classical double bass at the age of nine and began experimenting in rock on the electric bass at eleven. During secondary school he played in the Habs Big Band and was taught by Tom Taylor, Matt Herd and Jon Ormston. Kielan joined the Junior Royal Academy of Music when he was fifteen, when he was taught by Gareth Lockrane. It was during his three years there that he got serious about playing jazz. Kielan began studying at Trinity Laban in September and loves being surrounded by like-minded musicians.

Scottie Thompson

A pianist and composer from Portsmouth. He has spent the past two years attending Junior Guildhall and is currently in his first year on the jazz course at the Royal Academy of Music. He enjoys a wide range of music, and his influences stem from many genres, from jazz and classical to electronic and hip hop.

Morgan Wallace

A young saxophonist and composer, originally from South London. Growing up in Devon, she took up the clarinet aged eight, moving on to the saxophone at fourteen, and went on to play in Roz Harding's group the Jambassado
