Authentic Classic Hammond Organ Jazz, Funk, Soul & Groove

The Drawtones return to the Jazz Room at the Bull's Head after a series of highly successful sell-out of shows to launch their brand new album, "Groovin' Magic".

Emulating the great Hammond organ combos of the past with material from such artists as Jimmie Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, George Benson, Booker T, Junior Walker, Steely Dan and George Duke among others, the Drawtones claim ownership by way of their superb musicianship and proven jazz pedigree.

Top saxophonist Julian Nicholas has a distinguished career playing with luminaries such as Jimmy Witherspoon, Harry 'Sweets' Edison, Carleen Anderson and Loose Tubes as well as twice supporting the great Nina Simone.

Rod Pooley has steered the ship from behind the multi-textured Hammond organ on voyages with Jools Holland's band's Derek Nash, Martin Shaw, who says "awesome songs and infectious groove..." and Dennis Rollins, who says "always goovin' hard...." of Rod and the band.

Guitarist Andy Williams has worked with many of the jazz greats including Barney Kessel and Liane Carroll. Together with the awesome talents of Jess Dann on drums and Dan Doctor on bass the Drawtones collectively form a formidably funky line-up.
