Binker Golding plays a key role in the innovations at the forefront of the new London jazz scene, where he brings fresh, experimental sounds

Binker Golding is generally regarded as a musician playing a key role in the innovations at the forefront of the new London jazz scene. Bringing fresh, experimental sounds to the scene, Binker is best known for making up one half of the group "Binker & Moses", who released their debut album "Dem ones" in 2015 & “Journey to the mountain of forever” in 2017. The group won a MOBO award, 2 Jazz FM awards and a Parliamentary jazz award; but they also set a new precedent for young jazz musicians, opening up the scene to a wider audience and re-branding the musical genre for young people with their contemporary image and values. Binker plays saxophone for Zara McFarlane’s band and Moses Boyd’s "Exodus", while his other current projects include the third Binker & Moses album and a free jazz duo partnership with pianist Elliot Galvin, with whom he has recently released the 2019 album, “Ex Nihilo”. The Binker Golding Quartet is his most recent and detailed musical venture, featuring compositions exclusively by the band leader with a greater emphasis on detail and harmonic experimentation. Expect original compositions reflecting everything from straight-ahead jazz to grime and soul music, departing significantly from his work to date with Binker & Moses.
