Native Dancer + Sawa-Manga

‘A refreshing burst of imagination, uniqueness, and purpose in a crowded electro-fusion landscape' - Afropunk sums up Native Dancer’s appeal!

South-east London collective Native Dancer is made up of five individual artists who set out together to create a music that speaks from the heart and denies none of their influences. Their genre twisting mashup of styles combines elements of pop, soul, electro-funk, jazz, rock and dance music.

Born out of late night jam sessions and studio listening parties, Native Dancer is comprised of vocalist Frida Touray, keyboardist Sam Crowe, bass player Jonathan Harvey, drummer Ulysees, and saxophone player Josh Arcoleo.

Cementing their status as a force to be reckoned with, the group have recently performed at prestigious music festivals SXSW and The Great Escape.

Sawa-Manga is an exploration of musical landscapes, of deep sea diving into liminal places for story telling. It is sway, funk, blue flame. It is poetic future r&b brought to you by producer D'Vo and poet/vocalist And Is Phi.
