1 Clapham Common North Side

Australian singer/writer Kath Haling joins forces with pianist Liam Dunachie, Misha Mullov-Abbado on bass and Will Glaser on drums

Multi-prize winner, Misha Mullov-Abbado has come together with one of London's leading Jazz pianists and arrangers Liam Dunachie, the amazing Will Glaser on drums along with one of Australia's brightest exports Kath Haling to create a musical adventure where the worlds of jazz and pop collide.

The combination of sexy, sultry jazz riffs and hooky, fun pop licks create a sound that can only be described as a melting pot of pure joy. With all 4 collaborating on the creation of their soundtrack you will find yourself forging friendships with brand new tracks which you will feel you've known forever.

Also on at Omnibus Theatre, and free to attend, is The Jazz Gig, a specially commissioned photographic exhibition by award-winning photographer Jim Grover, which captures the intensity, emotion and movement of jazz musicians in full flow. The set of 35 black and white images feature celebrated young jazz talents including Rob Luft, Misha Mullov-Abbado (playing in Kath Haling’s group) their bands and other musicians.

Grover sought to create a narrative, a musical journey, which mirrors the rhythm and noise of a jazz gig.  He was influenced, in part, by a short-lived Japanese photographic movement, Provoke, whose style included blurred images that captured fleeting moments.

Grover adds: 'I wanted to bring to life the beautiful sounds, emotions, and intensity of a jazz gig through a series of still images. Not an easy thing to do!  Only if you hear music when you see some of the images, will I have succeeded.'

The photographs were taken at Omnibus Theatre during four separate jazz concerts during this summer. More information at jimgroverphotography.com
