Debris Stevenson

LONDON Southbank Centre / Purcell Room
Belvedere Road

Debris Stevenson - grime poet and pansexual ex-Mormon - will give the first London performance of a new collaboration, created for the From The Source festival in Coventry that will go on to inform Debris' next project  'The Write to Rave'.  Mixing poetry, dance, music and theatre, Debris will look into the radicalism of raving and the politics of a femme and queer bodies dancing alone.

Debris has performed everywhere from BBC Radio 3’s The Verb to London’s Roundhouse and starred in her grime-musical Poet in da Corner, which premiered at London's Royal Court Theatre and returns there for a six-week run in the main house at the end of this year.

Debris will be joined by “one woman musical army” Amy Fitz Doyley, intuitively experimenting with a variety of different instruments and sounds, alongside poet, singer, MC, multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli, who has long been established as a gem of the world of spoken word.
