The evening explores Dave Jones' arrangements of classic jazz repertoire with his original compositions evoking the energy and atmosphere of big band swing alongside Latin jazz and contemporary European jazz textures. Dave has drawn together an outstanding group of jazz improvisers and the ensemble playing will be balanced with opportunities to feature each soloist within the writing.

Playing and exploring the Nonet arrangements of great American writers such as Bob Hammer, Marty Paich and Frank Griffith provided the inspiration for the bandleader, while the experience of playing bass within Pete Cater Big Band, BBC Big Band and in earlier days Eurojazz, the European Community Youth Jazz Orchestra provided a unique perspective on writing for this the classic Nonet line up.
