Floetry’s Natalie “Floacist” Stewart, hosts a double bill of Maisha’s spiritual jazz-and-Afro-Beat mash-up and the jazz-infused hip hop and neo-soul of Triforce – live music and pure vibrations, with DJ Dave Koor - celebrating the on-going cultural explosion in South London that has witnessed the emergence of some of the most exciting young British jazz talent for many years.

Natalie 'Floacist' Stewart is the founding member of the ground breaking seven-time Grammy nominated, platinum selling, UK International Neo-Soul sensation Floetry. Returning to her South London roots with her unique blend of poetry and song, this will be a night not to be missed.

Live music and pure vibrations. It's Floetic!

Maisha fuse a range of diverse influences to create a sound that has been lighting up parties and jazz clubs all over London. A live act not to be missed, and with an album in the works, 2017 is shaping up to be a strong year for this six piece band.

Channeling the lineage of spiritual jazz, taking inspiration from Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane and Idris Mohammad, Maisha fuse their jazz influences with West African and Afro-beat rhythms, courtesy of bandleader Jake Long (2016 Yamaha Jazz Scholar) and percussionist Tim Doyle. Twm Dylan keeps the groove alive on double bass, Shirley Tetteh kills it on rhythm and lead guitar, Amané Suganami brings the heat on keys and Nubya Garcia delivers sax hooks that replay in your head for days.

With an average age of nineteen, TriForce is a jazz-infused, hip hop, neo soul band featuring Dominic Canning, Ricco Komolafe and Benjamin Appiah who came together on their first year at Middlesex University - finding their common interest in the music of Thundercat, J Dilla, and Funky Knuckles.

Guitarist Mansur Brown completes the line up for this band that has already made a name for themselves on the London alternative jazz scene and been signed to the Jazz Re:Freshed artist development programme.

Plus special DJ set from Dave Koor, founder of the Albert's Favourites label (Hector Plimmer, The Expansions, Scrimshire, Jonny Drop, Modified Man and Deoke).

Killer line-up featuring two bands from the Jazz re:freshed family: Jake Long’s Afro-spiritual jazz outfit Maisha – think Alice Coltrane meets Tony Allen,  and young band Triforce for those of you who like jazz fusion with a contemporary twist (influenced by hip hop, grime, neo-soul), and to top it all off support from the music encyclopaedia that is Dave Koor aka Deoke.’
