Help Musicians UK - Gender Equality in Jazz: Changing Perceptions

LONDON Southbank Centre / Level 5 Function Room
Belvedere Road

Chaired by Issie Barratt, the internationally recognised and award-winning jazz composer, educator and record producer, and alongside fellows from Help Musicans UK’s Jazz Promoters Fellowship programme, this panel session will explore gender equality within the jazz music sector, and the ways in which balance can be achieved across the genre.

The Jazz Promoters Fellowship is based on extensive research revealing that women are still hugely under-represented in jazz, and offers routes of professional development whilst redressing the scene’s current gender imbalance.
