Following his electrifying sold-out Scala show at the EFG London Jazz Festival last year, this Grammy-nominated artist returns with a new band, new album, and new sound - recent album Ruler Rebel, the first record from his new series The Centennial Trilogy.
Detailing a new vision and sound for Scott and his band, Ruler Rebel promises an audio adventure in a way listeners never heard before.Stretching the work of Trap music with West African beats and New Orleanian styles — Ruler Rebel will speak to a myriad of issues from xenophobia to gender equality, evaluating the social political realities of the world using sound.
Supporting Scott are 6-piece Maisha, who bring diverse influences together to create a unique energetic show that has been lighting up parties and jazz clubs all over London the past year. Channelling the lineage of spiritual jazz fused with West African and Afro-beat rhythms their energetic spiritual live shows are not to be missed. Their guitarist, Shirley Tetteh, is involved in Serious' Take Five initiative designed to give some of the UK’s most talented emerging creative jazz musicians the opportunity to take time out to develop their craft, build their careers and get their music out into the world.
